What is Pain to me

Pain to me is just a word. If you let it, it will be a feeling. I just hurt my ankle and couldn't feel it for a minute. Then all of a sudden, sharp needles pierced and tingled making their way up my leg. Of course, it hurt. Yet, when I was talking to my dad and telling him to come pick me up, I couldn't feel it. I hung up, and looked at my ankle and thought of what I had just done. Then came the pain. I have become callous to most pains, yet this was a new one. I really liked "Pain" mainly for it's description of physical pain. Then, Ackerman showed various examples of pain ranging from totally crazy to something we could relate to. I would like to ask her what kind of pain she has experienced in her life. Just birth? or more...
